First In Gardens Code of Conduct for Garden Member Activities
Purpose:
We’re more than a garden, we’re a place to reconnect, contribute, and grow. Whether planting seeds, caring for animals, or simply being present, there’s a space for you here.
This policy is in place to ensure a respectful, safe, and supportive environment. We aim to maintain a positive atmosphere where Veterans, First Responders, Family Members, and Volunteers can engage in healing, learning, and connection. By participating in First In Gardens’ member and volunteer activities, all attendees agree to respect this policy.

Safety – Follow rules, protect yourself and others
Expectations for All:
Respectful Behavior
Use appropriate language; no verbal abuse, threats, or harassment. Respect others’ experiences, backgrounds, and boundaries.
Substance and Weapon Free Atmosphere
To ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants, First In Gardens volunteer and garden member events are drug, alcohol, and weapons free. First In Gardens strictly prohibits the possession or use of any illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons at these events.
Safe Use of Tools and Equipment
Follow safety instructions and return tools in clean and good condition.
Care for Garden and Animals and Each Other
Treat all others, animals and structures with respect. Follow instructions for interaction for waste, planting and interaction animals.
Confidentiality
All information shared at garden member events is considered confidential and will not be disclosed to any person outside of those present without the express consent of those involved, unless there is risk to harm.
Violations
Anyone found violating these policies may lead to immediate removal from an event and/or long-term suspension from participation.
