Greetings, FIG Folk! A new season is upon us, and with it comes fresh energy, renewed purpose, and plenty of great work ahead at First In Gardens. Last year we donated over 700 pounds of fresh produce to local hubs. This year we’ll look to improve production with more harvest days, and tweaks to our donation process. As the warmer weather arrives, we’re grateful for all that has already been built and set in motion for the months ahead. Our chickens now have a new coop to call home, the goats also have a new spot in our new paddock area loaded with plenty of green snacks. Some early plantings are in the ground, and the peas are already budding. We’ve also built some new trellises for our climbers, setting the stage for another season of growth, hard work, and healing. This season, we’re excited to keep building connections, expanding our impact, and creating more space for belonging, healing, and meaningful work. From the garden beds to the paddock to the coop, this place continues to remind us that growth takes patience, teamwork, and a willingness to get our hands dirty. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just learning about our mission, we’re glad you’re here.
